Effects on structures

The effects of landslides on the Cultural Heritage are essentially correlated to: (1) structural type; (2) size of the building compared to the landslip dimension; (3) their position with respect to the volume of unstable soil. The exposure of the artefacts does not only depend on the effects of the landslides but also on the interaction with the nearest structures. Therefore, the interaction between structures has to be accurately investigated to understand its role in landslide prone areas. In the following, the above mentioned parameters from which the effects of landslides on structures are individually discussed.
